International Students

Embley is always delighted to consider high achieving students with ambitions to go to the top UK and other world-class universities. We expect a reasonable level of fluency in English when you join us. However, we offer a great deal of extra language support to our international students where this is needed. We offer a number of options for international students wishing to join our Sixth Form.

English as a second language (EAL)

For students who are not fluent English speakers or writers when they arrive, we provide tailored EAL support to meet their individual needs so that they can enjoy and fully benefit from the pace of learning at Embley.

One Year Pre-A Level Pathway

This 12-month programme offers a fast-track course to A Level studies at Embley by preparing students academically, linguistically and socially for the challenges of Sixth Form life.

You will follow an enjoyable yet demanding English programme, which is tailored to your individual language needs by our highly experienced EAL teachers. You will be prepared to take examinations leading to an internationally recognised English language qualification such as IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or iGCSE English as a second language.

Two Year A Level & Extended Project Qualification Programme

Most students follow three A Level subjects and an Extended Project Qualification. However, some students may wish to consider taking four A Levels.
