The world is changing, the workplace is evolving and different breeds of professionals and professionalism emerging. We assist students with their short-term goals and long-term aspirations as they explore what is possible and the steps to achieving their vision.
To deepen understanding of the professional world that could await them, students hear from industry and university speakers, degree apprenticeship providers and successful business people, from start-ups to multinational firms.
Our Careers Advisor and a dedicated careers resource ensures they make well informed decisions as well as provide support for identifying work experience opportunities, UK and international university choices and applications, as well as everything else that life after Embley holds.
Entry to university has become increasingly competitive in recent years. Our students are guided through every stage of the application process, giving them a competitive advantage by showcasing them at their best – through their academic ambitions, skills and career aspirations. Interview preparation includes an interview practice afternoon for all sixth formers with professionals from a range of professions and industries, and we draw on our teacher’s expertise for subject-specific interview practice ahead of university academic interviews.
Leaver destinations
Reflecting their individual aims and ambitions, our students go on to read a wide range of subjects including Chemical Engineering, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, English, Music and Sound Recording, Computer Science, Business and Modern Foreign Languages, Law, Biochemistry and History.
A significant number of Embley leavers go on to study at Russell Group universities. An increasing number of students are securing highly competitive degree apprenticeships with Pfizer, IBM and JP Morgan to name a few, or choosing to study at universities across the world.
