Learning spaces
Every student has their own study pod in our Sixth Form Centre. For those studying a creative arts subject, there are separate, additional workspaces to focus on portfolio tasks.
For moments when group projects occupy our energies, there is a further collaborative space in our Sixth Form Study. And with our high expectations of hard work and intent on giving our sixth formers a broad and balanced experience, our Sixth Form Common Room offers a place to relax and reflect, and to build and nurture relationships that will last a lifetime.
Beyond the curriculum
Being knowledgeable, collaborative, principled, authentic, humble, open-minded and reflective are all skills that future employers will be looking for.
Our extensive co-curriculum enables students to grow and succeed in areas beyond the confines of a classroom, laboratory or studio. They provide a raft of opportunities to grow aptitudes that will contribute to the personal development of every student.
Ours is a global village; we broaden horizons and challenge conventional thinking by offering students the opportunity to travel: to Ghana seeking to make positive contributions to our partner communities; to Virginia, Pennsylvania and Washington for first hand experiences of our history and politics, to Greece to study marine biology and turtle conservation; and to Iceland to explore the geology of its unique volcanic landscapes.
Our termly Sixth Form Nightingale Lectures introduce students to the formal dining experience that they will encounter at university and in the business world. Students start building their professional networks and are inspired by the careers and life experiences of Olympians, astronauts, polar explorers, Formula 1 engineers, research fellows, esteemed journalists and virologists.
