International Applicants

We offer a range of courses for students of different ages and different levels of English.

These include language supported integration into our Senior School programme from the age of 11, our full two-year GCSE programme, an intensive Sixth Form foundation Pre-A Level programme for 15- to 16-year-olds and a vibrant Sixth Form for A Level students.

We are proud of our diverse and multi-cultural community where our international students work and live alongside our British students, receiving additional English lessons in small, mixed nationality groups. Our school is best known for its public exam results and its career and business focused personal development programmes.

Application process

1. ENQUIRY & REGISTRATION
Please send an initial enquiry via email to admissions@embley.org.uk and include your child’s full name, date of birth, a copy of their passport and their most recent school report (translated into English). Our Admissions team will contact you to explain the different courses available.

Once you have decided that you would like to make an application, please complete our online registration form (add link to Registration form page) and provide a registration fee of £100.

At any point during the admissions process, if you would like to arrange to visit our school, please let us know and we will arrange this for you.
2. ASSESSMENTS & INTERVIEW
Students will be asked to complete our entrance assessments under exam conditions – these can be arranged with the student’s current school, with the British Council or by arrangement with the Admissions team. The entrance assessments will vary depending on the course you are applying for. For Year 7 to 9 entry, students complete our English and CAT4 assessments and for GCSE and A Level entry, students will also be asked to complete a Maths paper and they may also be asked to complete individual subject papers.

If you are unable to attend the school in person, we will arrange a virtual interview which will normally take approximately 20 minutes.
3. OFFER & ACCEPTANCE
Successful applicants will be offered a place to join Embley. To accept a place, students will need to complete our acceptance paperwork and pay an acceptance deposit (£500 for EU students, £2,500 for international students). Once your child’s place is secure, we will send you all the information you need to join Embley.
4. VISA APPLICATION
Embley holds a Child Student Visa licence, issued by the UK Visa & Immigration (UKVI), to sponsor students who live overseas to study at the school. We are members of AEGIS – the Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Students.

For international students who require a study visa, we will issue your Confirmation of Acceptance of Study (CAS) and direct you to UKVI guidance. When we have received the acceptance paperwork and deposit and all necessary documentation, we will issue a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).

Guardians

All boarders, including students over the age of 18, whose parents are either permanently or temporarily overseas, must have a UK resident guardian who lives within 90 minutes travelling time of the school. The guardian will be responsible for overseeing travel and holiday arrangements, medical appointments, looking after a student if they cannot be at school, and will take a general interest in the child’s progress.

The guardian you choose must be at least 25 years old and not in full-time education. We can give you a list of guardianship agencies which our pupils use, but we do not make any recommendations.

Agents

We value our relationships with our agents and strive to build a mutually beneficial and close connection, which is positive, professional and friendly.

If you would like to work with us, please email admissions@embley.org.uk.
