We have nearly 200 staff working at Embley across a range of teaching and operational departments, with a strong emphasis on continuing personal development. Training is delivered at Inset days and twilight sessions across the academic year with a programme covering the latest developments in teaching, sharing of best practice and insights from visiting educational experts, including Winchester and Southampton universities and TES.
Staff work collaboratively and observe each other regularly, with professional conversations to support development. This not only ensures our continuous focus on high quality teaching and learning but reinforces our mutually supportive professional relationships at Embley. Subject specific training is also encouraged to ensure staff have the latest knowledge of their curricula and specifications.

The core purpose of the housekeeping team is to ensure that the fabric, fittings and furniture of the inside of the school are cleaned to a high standard, thereby positively adding to the overall impression of the school for staff, parents, pupils and visitors alike. As part of the housekeeping team the successful candidate will be expected to take responsibility for implementing this within their allocated area and helping other team members as required. The successful candidate will be hardworking with an attention to detail. They will be able to maintain good humour and a positive attitude while working under pressure. The key working relationship will be with other members of the housekeeping team and the Head Housekeeper. However, the job holder may have a day to day working relationship with all school departments. The school operates a daily cleaning routine, and this role is to cover 3 hours per day 05:00 to 08:00 Monday to Friday. This is a unique opportunity to lead and develop Embley’s newly refurbished library into a vibrant hub of reading, research and intellectual discovery. We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Librarian who will create a welcoming and purposeful environment where students can study, explore new ideas, develop their interests and cultivate a lifelong love of learning. Working closely with staff and students, you will shape an engaging programme of academic and enrichment activities, promote reading for pleasure, support independent research, and help students develop the confidence and skills to question, investigate and discover. Through collaboration with teaching departments and your passion for learning, you will make a meaningful contribution to the academic life of the school, ensuring the library remains a dynamic and inspiring space at the heart of the Embley community. Local area and transport links to Embley
Located in the heart of the English countryside and on the edge of the New Forest, Embley is within easy reach of cities including Winchester, Southampton and Salisbury.
Southampton Central and Southampton Parkway have fast train connections to London. From Romsey, there is a direct line to the West country passing through Salisbury, Bath and Bristol to Cardiff, and Southampton and Portsmouth to the East. Embley is easily accessible by road, being five minutes from the M27 at Junction 2.
