ABOUT US
Embley is a wonderful and inspiring place to work. We are proud to be one of the most innovative, ambitious and forward-thinking independent schools in the UK.
By combining the passion and expertise of our teachers and business support staff with forward-thinking teaching and learning practices, exceptional facilities, and the latest technologies, we unlock the potential in every child and help them grow.
We have nearly 200 staff working at Embley across a range of teaching and operational departments, with a strong emphasis on continuing personal development. Training is delivered at Inset days and twilight sessions across the academic year with a programme covering the latest developments in teaching, sharing of best practice and insights from visiting educational experts, including Winchester and Southampton universities and TES.
Staff work collaboratively and observe each other regularly, with professional conversations to support development. This not only ensures our continuous focus on high quality teaching and learning but reinforces our mutually supportive professional relationships at Embley. Subject specific training is also encouraged to ensure staff have the latest knowledge of their curricula and specifications.
All teachers receive free membership to the Chartered College of Teaching and a subscription to the College’s peer-reviewed journal and networking opportunities. As part of the United Learning group, we also offer access to PGCE and QTS training. Click here to find out more.
