Prep School Art Exhibition

Our Prep School’s annual Art Exhibition transformed the Lewis Hall into a vibrant showcase of imagination this week, featuring artwork created by pupils from Nursery through to Year 6.

The exhibition, described as a “carnival of colour” highlighted the breadth of artistic talent across all year groups. Visitors were treated to an impressive variety of styles and techniques, reflecting both individual creativity and the diverse range of art movements studied in the classroom.

Among the standout pieces were pop-art inspired collages by Year 5 pupils, alongside striking post-impressionist paper plates created by Nursery children, inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night. Year 5 also demonstrated their skills in three-dimensional design, crafting plaster bandage cakes and biscuits that looked good enough to eat!

The exhibition also featured delicate silk paintings produced by the Art Club, as well as atmospheric seascapes by Year 6 pupils. Year 4 students explored traditional techniques through Aboriginal-inspired artwork using intricate dot patterns, while Year 3 showcased their Egyptian portraits and beautiful 3D canopic jars. Younger pupils also contributed a range of imaginative work, including Reception self-portraits, colourful collages of Monet’s gardens created by Year 1 and mixed media water drops by Year 2. Year 5’s printmaking projects inspired by contemporary artist Angie Lewin added a modern touch to the artwork on display.
