We are delighted to have been awarded the internationally recognised Eco-Schools Green Flag accreditation for the second year. The award recognises and celebrates the outstanding efforts of our students in promoting sustainability and environmental awareness throughout the school and wider community.
Building on the success of last year, this year Embley has achieved the accreditation with Merit. Students followed the Eco Schools seven steps to improve sustainability at Embley including propagating plants for classrooms, taking part in a beach clean with the Final Straw charity and rejuvenating the mindfulness garden outside the English block. This involved designing for an area with waterlogged soils, propagating cuttings and planting the area which now looks amazing having thrived across the summer and it offers a relaxing place for students at break times.
