Year 6 visited the Senior School for our Embley Maths Masters Quiz hosted by Head of Maths, Mr King. Their energy, enthusiasm and mathematical skills were on full display as they participated in a variety of exciting competition rounds. Each round offered a unique challenge that kept students engaged and thinking creatively. One of the standout rounds was the 'Music Numbers' round, where the children combined their love for music with their mathematical knowledge to solve problems linked to musical themes. Another highlight was the 'Christmas Pi' round, which put a festive spin on the mathematical constant, encouraging students to memorise and apply the digits of pi in a fun context.
The 'Christmas Maths' round followed, where pupils solved a series of holiday-inspired numerical problems testing their problem-solving abilities and quick thinking. The picture round also provided a visually stimulating challenge, with the children using their analytical skills to solve puzzles based on images.
Across all rounds, Year 6 displayed exceptional teamwork, critical thinking, and mathematical prowess. Congratulations to our winning team; Charlie, Jake, Lorelei and Seb. It was a great event that not only tested the children's math abilities but also sparked excitement and joy, making the Embley Maths Masters Quiz a memorable experience for all involved!
