“Today is a truly historic moment for Embley. To reach a national final is a first for the school and something our whole community can be incredibly proud of. The effort, commitment and resilience shown by this group of players has been immense, and they fully deserve this achievement.
What made the occasion even more special was the way the whole school community came together. The support from staff, students and families created an unforgettable atmosphere for the boys and showed exactly what Embley sport is all about.
I would also like to acknowledge Gravesend Grammar School, who were outstanding opponents and contributed to a high quality and fiercely competitive match. It was a brilliant advert for school rugby and a day that will live long in the memory of everyone involved.”
Mr Gareth Richards, Director of Sport
Their journey to the final has been exceptional. The team completed the entire Autumn term unbeaten in their Saturday fixtures, an outstanding achievement that reflects both consistency and competitive resilience. Just before half term, they were crowned Hampshire Schools County Champions, a title secured through disciplined performances and genuine team unity. Throughout the National Bowl campaign, the players have shown composure under pressure, courage in key moments and an unwavering belief in one another. We wish them the very best in the final to be held at the Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club on Wednesday 18 March.
