As part of our Sixth Form enrichment programme, we recently welcomed four inspiring guest speakers, each sharing their unique career journey and offering invaluable advice to our students as they consider their own next steps.
Dr Damien O'Farrell spoke about his path to becoming a leading IP patent attorney and a permaculture farmer. Kevin Westbrook offered insights into the defence industry, drawing on his experience as Head of Integrated Product Support at Babcock International. Liza Quereshi delivered a whistle-stop tour of her varied and international career, with experience at the BBC, across South African media organisations, and now as Global Events Lead at Zebra Technologies.
Most recently, Embley alumni and former Head of School, Josh, spoke candidly to Year 12 and 13 about the steps he took to secure a place on the J.P. Morgan Degree Apprenticeship Programme. Having been in our students’ position less than a year ago, he connected with their emotions and experiences in a way that made his advice both relatable and motivating. Across all four talks, students were left with the powerful and inspiring message that there is no set path and Embley is just the start of their journey.
