Embley Fringe Festival

The Embley Fringe Festival was a vibrant celebration of storytelling, creativity and community spirit. Throughout the week families, students and staff came together to enjoy a full programme of creative workshops, powerful performances and inspiring exhibitions.

Centred around the theme of storytelling, Embley Fringe showcased the remarkable talents of our students across the Arts. The week began with a series of engaging art workshops with illustrator Pam Smy, followed by dynamic dance and performance sessions led by West End star Ellie Young.

Across two nights, audiences were treated to a captivating mix of performances, including a student-directed drama, the Embley Concert Band and spoken word inspired by Florence Nightingale - all set within the magical atmosphere of the Big Top. Other highlights included our partnership with Waterstones, who hosted a pop-up bookshop, an interactive circus skills display from children's entertainer Lucas Jet and a spectacular Art, Photography and 3D Design Exhibition. Following its acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Embley premiere of 'Wilde' offered a moving and insightful exploration of Constance Wilde’s life and a powerful close to the event.

The festival provided a wonderful way to bring our community together and celebrate the start of a new academic year.
