As our students and staff headed to Ghana and our partner school Little Roses for a third year of volunteering, we received some wonderful news: Embley has been commended in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards for Outstanding Fundraising Achievement!
This recognition celebrates our 1837 Project, a fundraising initiative that wouldn’t have been possible without the creativity, determination and generosity of our pupils, staff and their families, who exceeded all expectations and raised funds to provide a new toilet block and water tank so that pupils have access to safe water and washing facilities.
From marathons and mountain challenges to read-a-thons, sea swims, performances and countless other fundraising ideas, every contribution demonstrated the compassion and commitment to service that is at the heart of our community.
A huge thank you to everyone who played a part in this remarkable achievement. This recognition belongs to our entire school community and we look forward to hearing who will be the finalists in September.
