A group of talented Embley Senior School students have formed the Tír na nÓg theatre company and secured a spot in this summer’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival lineup. They will be performing Wilde, a captivating new musical, written and directed by the students.
Wilde is the untold story of Constance, wife of Oscar Wilde. A tale of courage, loyalty and love, Wilde reveals the resilience of the incredible woman who stood alongside one of literature’s greats, and the scandal that destroyed them both. Inspired by Franny Moyle’s 2011 biography of Constance Wilde, our students felt compelled to present Constance’s unique tale as their debut Fringe performance. With support from Oscar and Constance Wilde’s only grandchild, Merlin Holland and the Wilde estate, our students have developed a moving and honest portrayal of an extraordinary woman that is sure to delight Fringe audiences this summer.
Wilde will premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2025 from 1 to 9 August 2025 at theSpace @ Niddry St. Find out more or book tickets here.
