This week, parents, grandparents and esteemed guests attended Embley’s Combined Cadet Force (CCF) Biennial Inspection and Beret Ceremony.
We were privileged to welcome Commodore Caroline Dix MBE and Commodore Nick Sargent from the Royal Navy to present the berets to Embley cadets. In her address, Commodore Dix RN MBE explained how her own experience as a cadet had gone on to shape her distinguished career in the Royal Navy. She also highlighted the values of leadership and service; skills learned as a cadet. Embley’s Contingent Commander, Captain Helen Smart, then gave a presentation which illustrated the diverse range of challenging, adventurous and rewarding activities our Embley cadets have undertaken this year.
Afterwards guests assembled in front of the Manor House to watch the Passing Out Parade. Following the ceremony, guests were invited to observe cadets taking part in a range of adventurous activities including paint balling, land yachting, archery, shooting, field crafts and climbing.
