Art, religion and history in Rome

Year 10 to 13 Philosophy & Religion and Art & Design students explored history, culture and faith in Rome.

Students were introduced to the classical history of Rome through fascinating visits to the Colosseum, Roman Forum and the Pantheon. Philosophy & Religion students had the opportunity to gain direct insight into the beliefs and practices of Christianity with visits to the Vatican, St Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel.

Throughout the trip our Art & Design students explored how religious themes have influenced artistic expression and took inspiration from the baroque art, architecture and masterpieces by Michelangelo, Raphael and Bernini. There was also time to enjoy delicious Italian cuisine and visit iconic landmarks in the eternal city including the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps, making it a truly memorable experience.
