Alumni Kaden plays hockey for Great Britain

Over the Summer, Embley alumni Kaden represented the England U18 boys’ hockey squad in the Eight Nations Competition. Following some outstanding performances, Kayden was invited to the Great Britain U21s pre-trial camps and he went on to support the team through to win the Sultan of Johor Cup and become the second top goal scorer in the international competition.Only a handful of new players were invited to join the U21s pre-camp programme. Training was extremely competitive but to Kaden’s absolute delight he was selected to travel to Malaysia. Kaden’s first ever touch for Great Britain U21s was to convert an early penalty flick which put the team ahead against Australia 1-0. A second goal followed and, on his debut, and Kaden was awarded player of the match as Great Britain went on to beat Australia 3-1. Another four matches, saw Great Britain make it to the final pool stage match, where two more splendid goals from Kaden secured the 3-1 victory and Great Britain’s place in the final.

Great Britain once again were facing Australia for the final. Another stunning goal from Kaden put him on six goals in the tournament and second top goal scorer in the competition. After a relentless battle and exciting final, Great Britain managed to win 3-2, becoming champions of the Sultan of Johor Cup 2024.

We are extremely proud of the Great Britain squad for the achievements and would like to congratulate Kaden on his impeccable hockey journey over the last few years.
