Embley students celebrate their outstanding achievements at A Level

Embley is proud to mark another exceptional year of A Level success, with over a third of grades (35%) awarded at the very highest marks of A*-A, and 86% of grades awarded A*-C, both a rise on last year’s results.

Individual achievements include the following students and their university or apprenticeship destinations:

  • Dylan - A*A*A* - Engineering, University of Cambridge (pictured)

  • Josh Ma - A*A*A - Computer Science, University of Bath

  • Oliver - AAA - Mechanical Engineering, University of Exeter

  • James H - A*AB – Marine Biology with Oceanography, University of Southampton

For our Heads of School 2024/25, Olivia (AAB) will read Fine Art at the University of Southampton and Josh (ABB) joins JP Morgan on a degree apprenticeship.

Of the 25% of the cohort who took Further Maths, 80% were grades A*-B, while over half (53%) of Maths grades were A*-A. Other subjects achieving particularly exceptional results include Art & Design, Business Studies and Geography (100%), Computer Science (86%), History (75%) and Biology (66%) of the A*-B subject grades.

Cliff Canning, Headmaster at Embley, commented:

“We are immensely proud of our students – not only for their impressive academic achievements but also for the personal growth they have experienced during their studies with the support of our staff and each of their families. By stepping beyond their comfort zones and embracing new challenges and experiences inside and outside the classroom, they have developed qualities that will enable them to go make a difference in our world.

”Our sixth formers play an integral role in school life and leadership at Embley. With opportunities of service, travel, intellectual change and the freedom to explore their passions, our students leave Embley with the vision, confidence and compassion to thrive in whatever pathway they choose.”
