Year 3 explore Palaeontology

Year 3 have been learning about rocks and fossils in Science. They have been discovering more about the different types of rocks, their properties and the process of fossilisation.

The children were fascinated by how fossils form, how much they can teach us about extinct animals and how they have evolved over time. To enhance their understanding, this week Year 3 delved into the world of palaeontology. They created their own dinosaur fossils using clay and plaster of Paris to represent the layers of sedimentary rock and minerals involved in fossilisation.
