Helping students make the right GCSE choices 

In Years 10 and 11, our students follow a core curriculum of five GCSE subjects: English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and Combined Science. Students wishing to study Biology, Chemistry and Physics as separate subjects can choose Separate Sciences as one of their options.

The remaining four optional subjects enable our students to tailor their studies to suit their academic strengths, interests and intentions for further education and careers. Students are strongly advised to select a Modern Foreign Language (French or Spanish) as an option. As part of each student’s personal character development, our GCSE timetable also includes Games, Physical Education (PE) and Personal Social & Health Education (PSHE) lessons.
