We welcomed Kenton Cool, one of Britain’s leading alpine and high-altitude climbers, for an inspiring talk on his life and career.
Introduced to mountain climbing by Hillary and Norgay’s 1953 ascent of Mount Everest, Kenton developed his passion for rock climbing during his time at university. He has gone on to have many global mountaineering achievements including being the first person to climb Nuptse, Everest and Lhotse in one season.
Kenton has also become one of the most sought-after guides in the world and our students were fascinated to learn more about his career. Having summited Mount Everest 18 times and successfully completed more than 44 expeditions, Kenton had a wealth of knowledge to share. Currently touring the UK with his ‘K2 – Savage Mountain’ talk it was a privilege for our students to have the opportunity to meet Kenton and ask about his experiences.
