Parents and students were treated to an eclectic musical mix of performances by our talented musicians at the Senior School’s Concert on Tuesday evening. The programme included solo, duet, quartet and group performances starring Embley Music Scholars, Embley Concert Band, our Flute Ensemble, three further Ensembles, Embley Voices and our very own Barber Shop Group.
Classical pieces by Holst, Beethoven and Bernstein, superbly executed on piano, flute, cello and trumpet were interspersed with powerful renditions from the likes of Radiohead, Tallis and Adele. Van Halen’s ‘Jump’ bought a wonderful evening to a close and a rousing applause from the audience of family and friends that filled the auditorium. Afterwards, Mr Matthew Morgan, Director of Music at Embley, commented: “Every single student performed with passion, enthusiasm and showed talent. They should all be very proud of themselves for their efforts.”
