Embley's environmentalists

Our Service Committee members, The Embley Environmentalists, were invited to the University of Oxford to give a presentation about their Social Action Project in celebration of their achievements throughout the year.

The Social Action Programme is designed to engage students in social action, empowering them to become leaders of change. Our students were responsible for creating a series of events to raise awareness of environmental issues in our community. Members hosted assemblies, interviewed Prep pupils, launched an inter-House litter pick challenge and ran our whole school Trashion show; all with great success.

Just before Easter, the Committee launched a tree planting project. Under the guidance of our Estates Team, student volunteers started planting 400 saplings around Embley’s grounds. Students loved getting involved and it is a wonderful legacy for them to leave for future generations.

We are very proud of our Service Committee members, who demonstrated great initiative and leadership in planning these events. It was wonderful to hear them speak with confidence about their hard work during their presentation. We look forward to the continuation of their tree planting project in the Autumn. Well done Josh, Ellie, Katie and Hugo!
